You have the skill and abilities to establish or operate a business with great efficiency. Your inner strength and devotion to your beliefs are extremely strong. You have a very good mind that is especially well equipped to handle the higher, more abstract forms of thought.

There is a tendency for the 11 to produce considerable amounts of nervous tension which is bought on by a very high level of awareness. You may be too sensitive and overly emotional. In some cases, these sensitivities and emotions are quite repressed, and this tends to add even more to the sense of nervousness in the makeup.

The strong 11 is not a very practical person because of the extreme idealism; often, there is a degree of self-deception present. There is usually a rather fixed idea of right and wrong held by those showing strong 11 traits, and with this very often is a resulting attitude of inflexibility.

Your Inner Dream number is: 6

An Inner Dream number of 6 means:

My Short Trip To Canada

Yes, I was in Canada today....at least for a short period of time.

I always hate it when there's a road construction along the way, especially on the Express Way. My GPS navigator cannot tell if the road is temporarily closed and any detours....It will just tell me to go ahead and stay on my lane...yeah right!

I was on I-75 heading north towards I-96 West to Lansing . Unfortunately, theres a construction ahead and I had to follow the detour signs which are not very clear. To top it off, it was late afternoon and started to get dark...I tried to follow the detour signs but somehow I missed some turns or Im in a wrong lane and cannot change lane 'coz of heavy traffic. Sure enough, I was heading towards I-96 East heading to Canada! I wanted to turn back but I can't! There are 6 lanes towards the bridge to Canada and each lane are bumper to bumper traffic. There was a long wait to get through the Canadian Immigration....I was panicking, I dont have my passport with me...I heard that theres a new law requiring a passport to go through Canada...All i have is my Driver's License...oh well...The Immigration Officer checked my drivers license and asked me why Im going to Canada and what Im going to do there? I simply told her, "I hate road construction and all those annoying and confusing detour road signs....I made a wrong turn and next thing I know Im heading towards the Bridge...and I guess Im going to Canada just to make a U TURN so I can get home! She simply laugh and said, you're not the only one...it happens all the time!

I went to Canada just to make a U Turn....haha! and that was my short trip to Canada....:)

Blackberry No More!

Ive always had bad luck with blackberry phones.

My first was a Blackberry Pearl, during the first month, it hanged up on me...everything just froze...I had to take the battery off to reset. and I had to do that at least couple times a day! and then it stopped receiving text messages/SMS/MMS....Im just glad that I still received my personal and work emails. I make gazillion phone calls a day and it would be nice to keep track of my recent calls so i dont have to reenter the number if needed...But! it wont work that way! Everytime i checked my most recent calls, it's empty!!!!! so, after months, i took it back to the Sprint store, I was debating of getting another blackberry but I like the scroller and I also like the fact that I can synchronize my calendar to my laptop and so I got a new Blackberry Curve (see pic).....My 2nd Blackberry....Just on the first day, I had to return it again that same day because It doesnt charge the battery! And please knock my head, I exchanged it with the same blackberry phone! waaaaa...it's been 24hrs and so far it works ok....but if this gives me another headache....Im done with Blackberry! Promise!

Ive been contemplating about getting the new Iphone but its expencive....I have simply everything plan with sprint and text/SMS/MMS/call/internet/tv are unlimited for just $99/mo!

Not excited for birthday present!

My husband mentioned about my upcoming birthday on the 26th...he's relieved because he doesnt have to worry about getting me my Christmas and Birthday present....and so he said...I bet you're not excited on your upcoming birthday because you already got your presents way way ahead! HE WAS RIGHT.....the excitement is over!

Way back in September, my husband asked if I want the Wii System and Wii Fit for my birthday...and an Ipod for Christmas. But I got so excited that I begged for weeks if I can get them right away. he got tired of me whinning everyday that he gve in and said, its ok with me...but I dont want to see any pouty lips on your birthday because trust me, the excitement is over when that day comes!

I dont have any patience when it comes to gifts...I hate surprises....I want to see them now! My husband usually hide the gifts so that I wont be able to find them because He knows....I can't wait 'till tomorrow. He usually give me a little present the day before my birthday to tease me....:)

Pacquiao makes De La Hoya quit after eight

LAS VEGAS – Round-by-round coverage of pound-for-pound kingpin Manny Pacquiao’s welterweight victory over Oscar De La Hoya. Pacquiao won via TKO when De La Hoya couldn’t answer the bell for the ninth round.

ROUND 1
De La Hoya closed as a 2-1 favorite. De La Hoya is minus-200 and Pacquiao is plus-170. The over-under is 9½ rounds. Pacquiao comes out with a slight weight advantage tonight. On the unofficial HBO scales, he weighed 148½ and De La Hoya was 147. De La Hoya is the aggressor early, but nothing lands in the first minute. Straight left from Pacquiao and then a combination from Pacquiao connects. Lead left by Pacquiao. Right to the body by Oscar. Manny misses a big hook. Straight left by Pacquiao. ROUND 5
De La Hoya connects with a jab, but first 30 seconds of round are very slow. They’re circling but not throwing much. Pacquiao lands a right hook. Triple jab from Pacquiao. Combination from Pacquiao backs De La Hoya up. The way this is going, it wouldn’t be a shock if De La Hoya were to quit on the stool at some point. He’s taking a tremendous amount of punishment. Body shot by Oscar lands and then two lefts. Oscar’s left eye is closing. He looks like a beaten, old and shot fighter.
Iole scores it 10-9, Pacquiao

Left to the body by Pacquiao hurts Oscar. Oscar has never been beaten like this in any of his 44 previous fights. Pacquiao is overwhelming him.
Iole scores it 10-8, Pacquiao

ROUND 8

Iole scores it 10-9, Pacquiao

ROUND 9
Fight is stopped just as the round is set to begin. Manny Pacquiao is the winner. Official time is 3:00 of the eighth.

Manny Wins, Dela Hoya Surrender!

In just 8 rounds, Dela Hoya was advised by his coach to surrender and he did!....LOL...From the very first round, I knew PACMAN is the winner.....All 8 rounds won by Manny.....it was most embarassing moment for DELA HOYA'S career...i was kinda disappointed that PacMan didnt knocked him down, but I was sure on the 9th round...but he was smart not to continue the fight....but then again, surrendering a fight is embarassing!

Go Manny!!!!

The secret to a long life!

I had a wonderful chat with my 90 yr old patient today. She's normally arguementative everytime I come to their house but today it was very pleasant. I cant blame her for disagreeing with me most of the time, she's 90 and I made her exercise...cant i just leave her alone? why on earth Im still treating her? But anyways, despite of her wickedness, I find her challenging. She once told me that she's giving up, ouch! that crushed my heart...I thought to myself, will I think that way when I get old and unable to do things on my own? ...she told me, "I already accepted the fact that I can never walk again and Im satisfied with how my family is taking care of me"...it struck me, makes me wonder, should i just let her go? I said no! I just can't! So, despite of the fact that every patient has the right to refused, I aint giving up! She hasn't refused yet, she just complain! Are they the same?

Our warm conversation started from a picture of her granddaughter who is a dentist. She was so proud that all of her kids and grandkids are very successful. She said, she has a degree in business school but never worked, taking care of the kids and the house was already a lot of work! her husband was the moneymaker! Oh yeah, her house is a mansion and she showed me all of her expencive paintings....they are breathtaking! She showed me her old pictures and told me stories about each one of them. Then she said with a big smile, I had a good life!

I can't help but noticed her beautiful skin and asked, did you ever used Oil Of Olay? she replied, "its the only product I used" I nailed it again! 90% of old ladies (80+ y.o.) that I encountered with beautiful and less wrinkled skin despite of their old age confirmed using this product! The other 10% just used water. Ive been conducting this independent survey since 2003. Lol. She also added, good sleep and lots of water helped her skin to glow....hmnnn...:)

She seems very happy today. I think the good old memories motivates her. So, I took advantage of the oppurtunity and asked her, What is the secret of a long life? She replied quickly, "Being Happy and satisfied! Choosing my husband is the best thing that ever happened to me. Im so happy every minute Im with my family. Im satisfied everything that ever happened to me, no regrets at all! Thats the secret of a long HAPPY life! Do not fuss all the little things that happens into your life, be grateful instead! The choice of happiness relies in your hands.....just like playing poker, no matter how bad are your cards but if you know how to deal with it, you will be the crowned winner! Most of all, be content with what you have...you will find peace with contentment!"

I went home so inspired. I hugged my husband right away and whispered how much I love him and how much he means to me. He looked at me and said...must be my new haircut, ha? I just smiled and uttered no more. We cuddled and watched a movie...:)

Nude Cleaning Woman

I was watching the news today with their featured news about a housecleaning agency that offers nude woman cleaning your house for $150/hr around Detoit area. It's probably common in most cities but its my first time to hear such thing.. According to the news, no sex or touching is allowed by the house owner and they will conduct a background check for every customer to ensure safety of their nude cleaning ladies...hmnn...

I am so bothered by it. First, why it was featured on tv during the day when kids can hear. I dont think it;s right. My other concerned is about the safety of these nude women, although they check the customers background...but what about those sex offenders who has not been caught yet and whose records are clean? how can they prove that its safe to clean a strangers house? im not against with nudity, in fact i am not against with prostitution and I believe it should become legal. why? because legality will ensure safety in the community. The government will mandate these prostitutes to get medical screening and treatment whenever necessary. Legality will also improve safety against any crime.

BUt anyways, I had to clean the house today...My husband was threatening me to get a nude cleaning lady if I dont clean! haha.......he said he was joking but im not buying it....lol.

Plain Housewife

Im off from work today. I had a long To-Do lists for our household but so far, I've only done 3 things. And at the end of the day, i was soo tired. I was working so hard. It wasn't a day off!

I realized that being a plain housewife is a lot of work, too. I always envy those wives who doesnt work and just take care of their house and family. I thought to myself, ahh life must be good for them. But I think no matter what you do in life, there's always deadlines and errands.

Growing up, my Mom was always busy. She always have a store. I can remeber her in and out of the house and just hurrying all the time. So I told myself, im not going to own a store if my life would be on the road all the times. But of course my current job requires 75% travel time!

My Mother in law is a housewife. She took care of 4 kids, a husband, and just the whole household but I can remember her telling me it was a lot of work taking care of them. My husband would always say that his mother is a hard working woman, making sure theres dinner on the table by the time her husband comes home from work. She does everything in the house. She used to paint their house, does the cleaning and laundry...and taking care of teenage kids! She once worked and said, it felt good to be away from home, it seems like a vacation!. lol. but she preferred to be a hands on Mom and wife so she quits. Right now, she helped for the family business.

My co-worker told me the other day that she always look forward to come to work everyday just to be away from home.

A friend told me some time ago that she can't wait for her kids to be back in school because taking care of them is such a load! When you're kids are at home, it's a disaster!

So, theres no reason for me to wine and complain for working hard....'coz everybody does it all the time! no exceptions!

Slippery Road

After work I went straight to Borders Bookstore for Hot Cocoa...for some reasons, this is my favorite place where I can relax and read books. I didnt get out till 7:45 in the evening and it was snowing heavily. While merging through the freeway, I felt the car swaying...Huh! I thought the road was just wet...but it was Black Ice! Luckily, I had enough space to manuever and not the hit the car in front of me. There was at least 3 cars in the ditch. I was driving a little over 30 mph. Some cars were passing me like crazy....well, I will just wave at them when i see them down the ditch, I thought to myself. From a far, I saw a blue and yellow light flashing and the traffic is getting slower. It looks like a fatal accident. I hurriedly called Charles and make sure it wasn't him...Thank God, he answered and yes, he's fine! He was 45 mins behind me and I told him to avoid the traffic. My usual 1 hour drive took me 2 hours to get home. Charles called me if I got home safe...he was worried because there was another fatal accident and at least 6 cars in the ditch. He's relieved to know that I am fine. Ahhh....I missed my Jeep 4x4 terribly! driving my Ford car is a little scary. Now, Im thinking about getting another Jeep, oh! I wish I can afford!

I've been tagged....and 6 Random things about me!

I have been tagged by lynnclaire and I am suppose to share six random things about myself, according to the rules on stated on her blog.

The rules are as follows:
1. Link to the person who
tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up.

So, here are six random things about myself:

1. I can always tell how much a building/house/resto/etc is cost by looking at the quality of materials being used. I am married to a husband whos family owns a custom architectural millwork company, I know what is cheap and expencive. The downside, I can never buy anything made of wood from a store because everything looks cheap unless otherwise you go to a high end furniture store which obviously is not affordable. Anything made of real wood is so expencive.

2. I am very hands-on with my car. I can change tires, Replace brake pads, and even change oil! yeah!

3. I am still a kid. I love to watch the Disney Channel shows every Saturday morning...My favorites----> Thats soo Raven, Hannah Montana, Power Rangers...:) I still buy color Books and crayola, I play computer games especially Mario Bros...:)

4. We have 5 beagle dogs and a Parakeet Bird which we adore so much!

5. I love construction work. Recently, we remodeled our house and installed bamboo floors in our bedroom, I did the dry wall and painting. Currently, my husband is building a wood stove and we prapared a corner space for that and just got done installing new tiles on the floor. Tomorrow, I will finish painting our bathroom!

6. My husband and I loves deer and rabbit hunting. We have 80 acres hunting property up north. Tomorrow (Nov.15) is the opening day for Deer Hunting Season, this year, we will try our luck in our backyard! hehe

OK....now it is my turn and I am going to tag:

1.Genevieve Ko

Do you cram?

Cram is to force, press, or squeeze into an insufficient space and/or time.

During my school days, Its my nature to cram on the night before the exam. It wasnt very helpful at all but I did it anyways....duh!

I find myself cramming today. Big time, too! The deadline to submit all documents was at 9am otherwise I wont get paid. I had 50+ pages to complete. I had 1 week to finish it but at 11:45pm last night I went to bed with only 30 pages done. I was so tired and brainless. I was supposed to wake up at 6am today to finish the paperwork but I didnt get up till 8am. I crammed and didnt know how I finished it in 1 hour. I am pretty much sure the QA department will be calling me at the end of this week to re-write everything...ahh...I can just hear them yelling at me now. To make everything worst, My fax machine just quit...and it was already 9:15 AM. So I called Sue at the office and told her that my fax machine is broke and that I have to get to the nearest FedEx Kinkos to fax my paperworks. She told me that the dealine was at 9am yesterday (Monday). Huh! Dang! But she was nice to me and said this was my free pass and that next time she's not going to tolerate me. Well, I just added Sue in my Christmas shopping list....:)

I promised to be very deligent next time. I always do a great job as a Physical Therapist and all of my patients just love me but I hate paperworks! its my #1 enemy! I was told, you will never be a good therapist if you dont write well and legibly! huh! Those darn insurance companies!

Driving in Snow and Ice

We have our first snow showers today. The ground is still warm so we hardly see any accumulation. Our weather forecast scattered snow showers overnight and early morning. We may see an inch of snow in the morning.

I think people tend to forget how to drive in the snow or icy roads during the first snow showers. I always see a lot of cars in the ditch and roll over car accidents. It is very important to drive with caution at all times especially on winter roads.

My first year driving in Michigan was not good. I got stuck in the snow on my first day. I spinned my car and made a donut turn on the 2nd day. I went to the ditch 3x and was glad it wasnt very deep and people were very helpful to pull my car out from the ditch. I experienced fish tailing in a 50 mph speed and ended up in a snow bunk (glad i didnt hit a tree or post). Overall it was a very traumatic experienced for me. So, we decided to get a 4WD Jeep SUV vehicle. It was my savior and handles very well for the last 5 years. Now that I lost my Jeep from a car accident in August, I am back to a 2WD Front wheel Ford Taurus Vehicle, a full size car and has good reviews on winter driving. Truthfully, I am scared. I will just have to drive slow and very carefully. I wish I can afford another 4WD SUV but with high gas price now a days....I guess I'll just have to keep my 2WD car. argh!

Driving in Snow and Ice

The best advice for driving in bad winter weather is not to drive at all, if you can avoid it.

Don't go out until the snow plows and sanding trucks have had a chance to do their work, and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination.

If you must drive in snowy conditions, make sure your car is prepared (TIPS), and that you know how to handle road conditions.

It's helpful to practice winter driving techniques in a snowy, open parking lot, so you're familiar with how your car handles. Consult your owner's manual for tips specific to your vehicle.

Driving safely on icy roads

  1. Decrease your speed and leave yourself plenty of room to stop. You should allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the car in front of you.
  2. Brake gently to avoid skidding. If your wheels start to lock up, ease off the brake.
  3. Turn on your lights to increase your visibility to other motorists.
  4. Keep your lights and windshield clean.
  5. Use low gears to keep traction, especially on hills.
  6. Don't use cruise control or overdrive on icy roads.
  7. Be especially careful on bridges, overpasses and infrequently traveled roads, which will freeze first. Even at temperatures above freezing, if the conditions are wet, you might encounter ice in shady areas or on exposed roadways like bridges.
  8. Don't pass snow plows and sanding trucks. The drivers have limited visibility, and you're likely to find the road in front of them worse than the road behind.
  9. Don't assume your vehicle can handle all conditions. Even four-wheel and front-wheel drive vehicles can encounter trouble on winter roads.

If your rear wheels skid...

  1. Take your foot off the accelerator.
  2. Steer in the direction you want the front wheels to go. If your rear wheels are sliding left, steer left. If they're sliding right, steer right.
  3. If your rear wheels start sliding the other way as you recover, ease the steering wheel toward that side. You might have to steer left and right a few times to get your vehicle completely under control.
  4. If you have standard brakes, pump them gently.
  5. If you have anti-lock brakes (ABS), do not pump the brakes. Apply steady pressure to the brakes. You will feel the brakes pulse — this is normal.

If your front wheels skid...

  1. Take your foot off the gas and shift to neutral, but don't try to steer immediately.
  2. As the wheels skid sideways, they will slow the vehicle and traction will return. As it does, steer in the direction you want to go. Then put the transmission in "drive" or release the clutch, and accelerate gently.

If you get stuck...

  1. Do not spin your wheels. This will only dig you in deeper.
  2. Turn your wheels from side to side a few times to push snow out of the way.
  3. Use a light touch on the gas, to ease your car out.
  4. Use a shovel to clear snow away from the wheels and the underside of the car.
  5. Pour sand, kitty litter, gravel or salt in the path of the wheels, to help get traction.
  6. Try rocking the vehicle. (Check your owner's manual first — it can damage the transmission on some vehicles.) Shift from forward to reverse, and back again. Each time you're in gear, give a light touch on the gas until the vehicle gets going.

Crazy Thursday

My day didnt start right today. I actually woke up an hour earlier than normal....so I had time to watch "Regis and Kelly". The discussion was great and I learned that 43% of Married Men thinks that they should have marry their Ex-Gfs instead......Kelly said, well, too bad....your just stuck with your wife! Regis replied, just suck it up Dude! haha......I had fun....only to find out I was late for my first appointment! whhhhaaaaaaatttttttt! So, I rushed to my car and off I go. At lunch, I went to pick up my new laptop and Ultrasound machine provided by my company for work. I put them in the trunk and I must have put my car keys inside, too. Of course, I cant get inside my car!!!! Im so pissed!!!!! Gladly I have my cellphone and was able to call my Insurance company. They send somebody to unlock my car with no extra charge in less than 45 mins. AAA Insurance has been so good to me. I dont mind paying the extra dollars as long as Im in good hands. But anyways, I rescheduled everybody in my appointment lists...that took at least an hour.....now, I will have a crazy Friday because of this. arghhh!.....

I have learned that Americans values their TIME. Every minute counts. They spend it wisely. If you think you will be late for an appointment, you should always call them at least an hour before your schedule and let them know that you will be late or you are not able to make it. In Doctors office, you will be charge for being late or if you dont show up. TIME is so valuable here.....it makes me reflect the way Filipinos manage their Time, it is the exact opposite way!

66 % Young Americans voted for Obama

60% women voted for Obama

50% men voted for Obama

Judgmental

Charles and I did our groceries at Meijers today. We decided to use the self-checkout lane. I told Charles we should go to the 12 or less counter instead but NO because we have more than 12, we probably have 15 items but as you know my husband is very honest, too honest. So we were behind these 2 ladies and their super annoying kid with a full cart, they were sooo slow. She was very meticulous with what she scan, checking the price of each item, although nothing is wrong with that but I think they should take into consideration the customers who were next in line. She was la la la...as if nobody is waiting. I have read the whole magazines on the rack and they were still scanning. We probably waited for more than 30 minutes, by that time I'm so grouchy. Just when I thought they were done, something happened to the payment system, so I was looking at the machine (not them!) and thought to myself "dang machine" and probably showed some bad expression (referring to the machine). I wasn't mad at them, just disappointed. So when it was my turned, this bitch came up to my husband and said, Sir, I would just like to have a word with your wife (Charles thought he was gonna say something nice), then I faced her and she was just bitching me...calling me rude and that I was staring at her sister and made a bad gesture....I was shocked and Charles did too. She left right away. People were looking at me. I feel so embarassed. It makes me mad that I didnt have the chance to defend myself...not that it matters to her, but it matters to me...Im hurt....shes being so judgmental......as far as I know, she's the one that is rude!

I was so mad that I cried. Ive never been called "rude" nor humiliated in front of other people. Charles hugged me and apologizes for not defending me, I understand becuase we were both shocked and she left right away. Charles said he was proud that I was able to control my anger. She was just lucky because I'm full from our dinner date and the situation is so shocking that I froze. I am now experienceing late reactions and too emotional. I just wished I was able to tell her she's a bitch and dragged her into the street and _____!

Honesty and Responsibility

Charles requested me to get him a new phone today. I asked why because he has a phone being provided by their company. He works for his Dad. They own a custom architectural millwork business. He said, I dont want Dad paying for my phone , It's just not right because I use it to make personal calls. Personally, I didnt like what Ive just heard. I dont want another bills. My company pays for my phone and I use it to make personal calls, too. Then he replied, which you shouldnt be doing!

My husband is always honest. I don't rememeber him telling a lie, well, maybe when he says Im light as a feather If I asked about my weight. lol. He knows, he's not supposed to say bad words. He knows how to make me smile. haha.

I admire Charles for being responsible. He bought his first car from his parents and paid them from his own earnings. He had to get a car to go to work at the age of 16 at a local auto factory. His parents paid half of his tuition in college and Charles paid the other half and the rest (apartment, food, utilities). He attends class in the morning and work at night. He took Electronics Communication and graduated with GPA of 3.86 (highest is 4.0). Hes very smart. At the age of 21, he bought his first house.

Charles is always very considerate. He never ask anything from his parents or to anyone.

In the Philippines, we are used to having our Parents do the spending for us. Some people are still living with their parents along with their family. They dont even contribute for food and utilities. It's depressing.

I learned so much from my husband. Everytime he does something extraordinary, it makes me reflect all my wrong doings and yet so hapy to have learn and follow his ways. He's a very good role model. I want my kids to be like him, honest and responsible. I want to raise my kids here in America where kids learns responsibilty at a young age.

I forgot, again!

Today, I forgot to bring my wallet again!

It was a bad day. I didnt have breakfast because I was already late for my first appointment and forgot to grab a banana on my way out. I didnt have lunch because I dont have my wallet with me. No candies or even pennies in my car! Gladly, I still have water from yesterday.

My husband always tell me to put at least $50 bucks hidden inside your car for emergency. Well, I keep forgetting my wallet and have used the money for gas or food. And never been able to replace it. Why? Im simply irresponsible. Yes, I just said t.

It happened 3x that Charles rescued me. He had to drive 45 minutes to put gas into my car. He did say, he will never do it again so I will learn my lesson. Is that why he never answered my call today? The nerve! He blamed his faulty cellphone. Hmmnnn.

You would think I will remember to bring my wallet today since I forgot it yesterday. Luckily, I took a banana and had $5 in my coat plus my car is fully loaded with gas...it barely saves me today, too. When I got home, my car says 8 miles to empty...lol.

I got home around 7:30pm. I was grouchy and sooo hungry. I wasn't gonna tell my husband because I know he will just scold me, again. But I cant keep a secret and he always know when Im hiding something, so I told him anyways...he simply said, Ive been a bad girl and will not take me to "Trick or Treating" as punishment...what????????? I know he was joking but he seems so serious, Im not sure. Hmmnn....But then, he made me dinner and set up the table...After dinner, he went to put money inside my car becasue he said I will never do it. Thanks Sweety...:)

I just dont forget my wallet but with a lot of things, too. The reason I dont usually bring my purse becasue I will just forget it in the store or anywhere.; When we go out, My husband pays for everything.

I dont know what to do. I am so irresponsible. You would think I should have learned my lessons by now but its becoming a habit. Its scary! I need help!

$5000 Bonus

I spoke with my Boss today and offered me a $5000 Bonus if I sign a 3 year contract with the company, and also promised to make me the Director Of Rehab after I finished my "secret" lol. Which I'm hoping soon...Ive been procrastinating, Im so closed...But Im not going to say it here, baka ma-jinx pa! haha.

Anyways, $5000 is actually lower than what was being offered from the other company early this year, they offered $10000....but I refused...as if much molah ako...It's not that I dont like that company, Im just not at ease with them. But this time, Im debating...coz I planned to take a vacation next year but was having 2nd thoughts because financially Im not comfortable. We have 2 houses which were paying 2 mortgages every month, another hunting property up north...at the end of the month, our pocket is empty. I can go on and on with the list of our bills here, its never ending....Thats America!.....but anyways, I am really thinking about this. Its been over 2 years since the last time I went to the Philippines. I missed my family back home...but then, I will be stuck with this company for 3 years? Ive been with this company for 3 months now, I have seen ups and downs....I have mixed feelings........I've never sign a contract before, Im always been a freelance and I like it because I can hop to one company to another If I want to. I think I am blessed to have a very high-damand career, instead of these company interviewing for prospect employees...but rather, I interview them! lol.

Charles 34th Birthday

It was a nice celebration. His actual birthday was on Monday but we celebrated it over the weekend. We went to Hooters for dinner on Saturday. We were gonna watch a movie after dinner but nothing seems to catch our taste. We went home instead and Charles played his new nintendo wii racing game that he got for our friends and finished it in just 3 hours...wow! We had fun, it was like watching a real racing game! Before I went to bed, I made his most requested triple layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. The next day we had a great breakfast. I prepared blueberry and chocolate chips pancakes, sunny side up eggs, and Bob Evans patty sausage. We had his chocolate cake at lunch and went to the Chinese Restaurant at 3pm. It was my guilt free weekend. lol

I feel bad though because yesterday I got home pretty late from work. I was gonna ask him to have dinner at his favorite restaurant but when I got home he was chowing. He cooked dinner on his birthday! I've got to make up for this!

Scarf

Today, I got home from work at 4pm, thats earlier than normal since i usually get home between 6-7pm. So I thought of going to the mall to look for some insulated pants but I wasnt able to find one. Instead, I splurge myself with new cashmere scarfs. It's soft and warm. Im getting ready for winter!

When I got home I feel like Im going to throw up for what I just did. I feel guilty. I cant imagine buying myself a cashmere scarf for big buck$$ but I did it anyway and bought 3!!! I was also glad that hubby wasnt home so I hurriedly cut the tags. lol. He doesnt prevent me from buying stuff, he's actually very giving but he's always my conscience. He usually ask me these questions: is it necessary? another one? do you really need it? how much? then followed by, what?

So, I have decided to return 2 of them tomorrow. I am still debating which color to keep. But before anything else, I will have to look into the garbage and hopefully I'll find the tags. Charles just put the garbage away. Toinksz.

Fleece Lined Jeans

The cold weather is not fun especially now that I've lost some of my insulation...lol (read my previous blog "Insulation".

My husband suggested me to buy a fleece lined jeans to keep me warm in the cold weather. He wears them all the time plus a silk underpants, at least 6 mos during the cold season. I never wear them before because its bulky. Today, I tried it and it really feels warm.

I have been looking everywhere, online and offline...I just can't find a women's fleece lined jeans that is not Relaxed, tapered leg fit! Why on earth these manufacturers does not make them in boot cut or straight leg? why it has to be the old fashion cut? argh!

I love shopping but looking for something in particular that is soo hard to find makes shopping a pain in the butt!

Insulation

Lately, I have been feeling so cold. In the past, the cold weather doesnt bother me. I normally doesnt wear bulky clothes coz I feel suffocated. Im comfortable and warm with just a fleece jacket on a freezing day. It has been annoying that I had to wear 3 layers of clothing plus a fleece robe and mukluks footwear to keep me warm in the house. We normally keep our house at 62-65 deg.F to save gas. It was a comfortable temperature. Last night when we went out to have dinner, it was just so cold and it was only 45 deg.F. Its not even snowing yet. The kids at the parking lot we're just wearing skirts and shorts???? oh my, suddenly I am sensitive to cold. Hubby noticed that I was shivering, I told him about my dilemma...he simply said, thats because you have lost all your insulation! lol. I didnt even think about that! I have lost 30 lbs since June and 30lbs of fat is a lot of insulation. haha.

Whiner

I dont like people who constantly whine, some answers are pretty obvious but they dont pay attention. I don't like people who complains a lot, I dont want to hear it. I refused. It irritates me. If someone confides in me I simply tell them, just move on! I dont want to complicate my mind with other peoples problem, I dont have time for that. Well, its just me, selfish? maybe...lol

I am the type of a person that rarely get annoyed or bothered by anything (except for the above mention traits, lol. well, I only keep it to myself, I dont tell.) Above all things, I usually go with the flow. I rarely complain. If I do, that means Im hungry! well, that's according to my husband. He said I get nasty when my stomach is empty. But anyways, according to my friends and co-workers, Im likable and easy to go along with. So, when I hear anything bad, I dont like to hear it. I feel offended. Especially if they backbite and I dont even know the person they are talking to, I feel bad for that person and that will only make me not liking you. I believe that when you said something to other people, it reflects the real you.

Seven tricks for your Nintendo Wii

Tue Oct 21, 2008 3:56PM EDT

Buzz up!on Yahoo!www.yahoo.com

You didn't think your Nintendo Wii was a one-trick, Wii Sports playing pony, did you? Techradar.com compiled a list of seven tricks that can squeeze more out of your Nintendo Wii. Here are my personal favorites:

1. Email a chum's Wii: You'll need to have a record of those damnably unmemorable friend codes for anyone you want to mail, but once you do it's simple: just drop a message to w[friendcode]@wii.com. For instance, w1234567891011@wii.com.

6. Fix stubborn Wiimotes: If you're having trouble getting a new or borrowed Wiimote to synch with your console, there's a way to make the Wii completely forget about all the remotes it's paired with so that you can start afresh. Turn the Wii off and unplug it from the wall. Wait 30 seconds, then plug it in and turn it on again. When the Health & Safety warning pops up, open the flap on the front of the Wii, then press and hold down the red SYNC button for 15 seconds. And that's it - all the synced controllers will be forgotten. Then pair all your Wiimotes with the console using the standard method.

7. Use your Wiimotes with your PC: Yep, the Wiimote uses standard Bluetooth wireless tech to talk to the console - which means it can also work with a PC. So your Wii controller can double up as a remote control for movie watching, or you can even play any game with it. You'll need either built-in Bluetooth support or a USB adaptor in your PC, plus free app GlovePIE to get it working. There's a little bit of faff involved, but the instructions at the GlovePIE site will talk you through it. You can also download pre-made profiles for specific games.

Of course, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I like to use with my Wii.

Turn the Wii into a YouTube machine: Here's an obvious one that I just don't see enough people using. Using the Wii's Opera-powered Internet Channel (which you have to purchase from the Wii Shop for 500 points), you can simply browse to YouTube.com to watch your favorite video moments on your big-screen TV. Additionally, you can plug in any USB keyboard or the Logitech Cordless Wii Keyboard to make Internet browsing and YouTube oogling a complete breeze. Boom goes the dynamite!

Utilize the homebrew channel: This one takes a little bit more trickery than the others. Using your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, you can install a freeware "homebrew" channel that allows you to run unofficial software on your Nintendo Wii. There are emulators, games, media players, and more—the potential is limitless. However, the legality of this is hotly debated, and your warranty may be voided, so proceed with caution.

Want more out of your Wii? Head over to Techradar.com to see the full list. Have any secret tips of your own? Fire away in the comments below.

Charles upcoming birthday

I have been contemplating on what to get for my husbands birthday next Monday...I have tried to listen to any hints on what he wants for his birthday, he only asked for a triple layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting from scratch, well, he always request that every year for the last 6 years that we've been together. (the picture attached here is from his last yrs bday)

Anyways, what does a man wants when he has almost everything in his garage, he's a handyman and he's garage looks like a retail store. Last year I got him some clothes, the other year i got him some electronics stuff. Ahhh...why it is so hard to pick a gift for him?

What does a man wants on his birthday?

Road Sign Invoice

Over a month ago I was in a car accident. A huge Pick up truck hit the rear end of the passenger side of my SUV. My Jeep is totalled. I didnt get a ticket but she did. I strained my neck and refused to take pain pills and muscle relaxant because I downt want the effects on my liver. The Doctor made the right decision of prescribing Physical Therapy and referred me as my own therapist. haha. Within 3 days, Im amazed that I was able to move my neck without so much pain and I was pain free with full ROM in a week. Physical Therapy actually works! haha. A piece of advice, if you sprained/strained some part of your body, apply ice 15-20 mins every hour with gentle stretching for the next 24-36 hours. After that, apply heat 15-20 mins 2x/day.

But anyways, after I wrote my blog entry about Parking Ticket, I went to get our mails in the mailbox. This time, I got a bill from the City Of Burton for a Road Sign Repair. Apparently, I will have to pay the road sign that was damaged during the accident even if it wasnt my fault? Dang! all of these traffic and parking tickets taking all my money! I am so pissed. I am going to call them for an explanation...and I will also call my insurance if they are supposed to pay for it. Haay!

Parking Ticket

Last week when I was at my patients home, a neighbor knocked on their door and informed me that a police officer just issued a parking ticket on my car. Reason: I was blocking the sidewalk. Its my first ever Parking Ticket. Dang! Its so stupid. I think the city of Detroit need money that they spend a lot of time issuing parking ticket. Theres so much crime in the area, can they focus on that instead? Im so bothered that i almost didnt send my payment but I dont want them to impound my car. So today I send my $30 fee and admit my responsibility with explanation. I told them that I purposely park my car away from the steps because we need that so much clearance to train my patient to go up and down the steps. I knowingly block the sidewalk but I cant park along the side of the road because that was a garbage pick up day and so many garbage cans that I cant find a place to park. I hope they will consider my valid reasons.

Homework

Yesterday, I received an email from my 14 yr old niece asking for help with her homework. Here's the letter:

  • Hi Aunt Marissa and Uncle Chuck! How are you guys doing? I'm sure you were
both busy with work today. I have a few questions for you to help me out
with my Freshman Focus homework. We are doing a project in the class, where
we go around asking different people questions about their jobs. I was
wondering if you guys would take some time, and each separately answer these
questions. This would help me out a lot!

I hope to hear from you soon!

    Love,
    Hale
  • QUESTIONS:
  • #1: Please tell me a bit about your job.
#2: What do you like best about your job?
#3: What do you find most challenging about this job?
#4: What education/training do you need for this job?
#5: What skills do you use everyday?

Also, if you know what pathway you are in (Arts & Communication, Human
Services, etc.), it would be greatly appreciated if you included that in
    your response.

So, heres my answer to her questions:

#1: Please tell me a bit about your job.
I am a Physical Therapist, it is a health care profession which provides services to individuals to restore loss of function due to injury, aging, disease or other environmental factors.
Physical Therapist are responsible for examing the patient or client; evaluating the results; determining goals; and planning, implementing and evaluating a physical therapy program. This typically includes educating and instructing patients and their families. Example, we help Stroke patients regain their function and strength back so that they will be able to walk again. We help them to be independent with most of their activities of daily living so that they dont have to depend on others.

Physical therapists practice in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, sports and fitness facilities, work settings, and nursing homes.

#2: What do you like best about your job?

It is a very rewarding career. I am happy to see my patient able to walk again, especially when I see the smile in their face and thanking me for a job well done, it's a very nice feeling.

#3: What do you find most challenging about this job?

When I work at the Nursing Home, our job requires physical strength because most of our patients came from the hospital. The transition is very difficult because we're dealing with acute injuries and most of them are elderly. I find it challenging when they dont want to participate with the program because they are in pain and depressed. At the end of our treatment, I feel their pain in my back because i did most of the work even if they can do more but refused to get better.

#4: What education/training do you need for this job?

I graduated from the Philippines. Our school system is somewhat different from the United States. BS Physical therapy is a full time 5yrs program. The 5th year is our Clinical Internship Program. After graduation, we also have ongoing continuing education program for updates with new treatment strategies, etc.

#5: What skills do you use everyday?

Aside from knowledge and experience, its the holistic approach and great smile when I attend to my patients.

What about you? Please share us your answers to these questions. Thank you.

Autumn

I love the Fall colors. It is one of my favorite season.

When I wake up this morning I was excited to see our Maple Tree starting to turn into bright orange, Its funny though because only the NorthEast part of the tree changed its color. I looked at the other neighboring trees, some are still green and the other one has changed its color in the opposite side. I wonder about the science behind this. Im too lazy to google it. :)

But anyways, Im too excited that I changed my Multiply Theme into Autumn. I hope you guys like it.

My Political Views

I have watched the debates and campaign rallies, I believed that Obama-Biden ticket will make a good team to govern the United States.

I was disappointed of McCain's tactic, he' sneaky. McCain chose Palin as a way to trick women into siding with him. He saw that once Obama picked Biden instead of Hillary Clinton for his VP, he thought that this would work for him! Boy, was he wrong! But, to say that women voters are simply going to vote for Sarah Palin because she is also a woman seems a little degrading. Are those with these thoughts insinuating that women are not smart enough to choose a candidate based on his or her performance and would just support any woman regardless of their motives? Is this what John McCain and Sarah Palin are thinking, too? To put it bluntly, Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton. Nor does she have the vision and brilliance of Barack Obama. This is an incredible insult to most American women. Just how stupid does he think we are?

I agree with Joy on The View, Sarah Palin is dumb! yeah! I have watched all her interviews especially with Katie Courick. This woman cannot answer a question with a straight answer -- she's all over the place and dodges every question because she doesn't have a freaking answer.

I am going to have pages and pages about how ignorant is Sarah Palin if I dont stop here.

Why Home Care?

I have been a Physical Therapist for over 8 years now. I have been in various settings but Geriatrics population has been my forte. I will never go back to Pediatrics, they are very delicate to handle. Kids are cute but they annoy me. I dont have children of my own but I hope it will change.

My first job as a therapist was in an outpatient geriatric clinic in the Philippines. I love it so much. I partnered with another therapist and did homecare also. I didnt have my own transportation and gas money as a starter to travel but my parents allowed me to use their own pick up truck. I really love going to my patients home but collecting fees has been a problem so I stopped. I couldnt pay my parents for the transportation.

When I fist came to Michigan, i landed a job in the nursing home. I did part time and full time jobs in various nursing homes for about 5 years. I enjoyed every minute of it. I love listening to my patients historic story. Some of them are war veterans and they know more the war history in the Philippines more than I do. haha. I have learned struggles and the great depression of yesterday. I learned a lot from them. While working in the nursing home, I also did a part time homecare job for about 1 year before i become full time.

So, why homecare? The first thing that comes into my mind is that I can manage my own time and I am my own boss. I love to travel and listen to my favorite audio books or rock on some music on the road. Homecare patients are homebound and most of them are the older people.

The challenging role of homecare is what made me choose it. A very difficult job, not a lot of people can handle it. It takes "somebody" to do it, and that somebody should be versatile. When you're patient is "cool", you tend to be cool, too. Try to adjust yourself to fit in to their home environment. It is their home, not yours. Do not let them feel uneasy with you, make them feel you are part of the family. Once you're inside their home, be calm and courteous. Dont let them feel threatened. You're gesture should assure them that they are in good hands with you. The ultimate challenge is your own safety. Follow your instinct all the time. When you drive in to the vicinity and something is not right, leave. Most of all, make sure you have some sort of protection. I always carry myself a Michigan approved pepper spray that is attached to my key chain, purse, nurse bag, and in my car. Be safe always.

Wii Fit

Im a Physical Therapist and I should be training myself....yeah, right!

It's so obvious that I put a lot of weight since I started dating Charles. I dont know why.

It was only 3 months ago that I started my gluten free and red meat free diet that I've lost 30 lbs! I watched what I eat. I rarely use oil in my cooking. I could have have lost more if i exercise, too. But, I am lazy.

Charles was happy to see my progress and he suggested me to buy the Wii Fit, he said he saw a woman doing the hula-hop on YouTube...hmnnn??? I didnt really care at first. During my home visit to one of my patient, her daughter was exercising with the Wii Fit. Im intrigued. She looked like she was having fun. She had a blast! So, I went to Best Buy to inquire about it. In the store, there was this lady asking the salesguy if they have the Wii Fit because according to her It was sold out when she fist inquire about it last week. The guy said, oh yes we do! In fact theres only 2 units left....My heart was pounding...I had this instant feeling to buy, like NOW! So I told the guy, Ill take the other one, too! and of course, I had to buy the Wii system to operate the Wii Fit.

I love my new Wii Fit. It's just like having your own Personal Trainer. It makes exercise fun and interactive. It records your progress. Charles likes it when I do my hula-hop...haha....I am having fun and losing weight at the same time!

I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks!

It has been 3 weeks with my liver detox and gluten free diet and I lost 15 pounds! I feel great. I dont feel bloated and no more nasty farts...haha...I mainly eat vegetables and fruits, salmon fish (rich in Omega3) and breast chicken (white meat). I only use olive oil in my cooking. No more red meats, soda, fatty foods, white rice, chocolates, and fast foods. It was hard during the first week but I'm used to it now. I find myself craving for salads, I used to say: I dont eat weeds (referring to green leafy salads)...haha. I am changed and I feel healthy!

I want to lose another 40 pounds, I know its a long way to go but Im going to make it. They said, in everything you want to do, it takes 21 consecutive days to make it a habit. Of course, it has been 21 days and im still hooked to my healthy diet!
